Call for Artists: Studios at the new Vital Spaces Cerillos Road space (Temporary!) Vital Spaces is opening up 25 artist studios inside a new, active creative hub — and we’re inviting artists of all disciplines to apply. This space is built for folks who want to make work around other makers, be part of a shared creative ecosystem, and help shape a living, breathing community space. (If you’re looking for a quiet, solo, closed-door situation… this isn’t that.)

…and ongoing classes, workshops, gatherings, and activations. Vital Spaces exists to activate space for community + creativity, especially in a city where real estate makes it hard to create.
Cost
● $200/month
● We’ll also have work-trade and sponsorship-supported studios available — so please apply even if cost is a barrier. We want the right people in the room.
Who this is for
You might be a fit if you:
● Want to be in an active, shared environment (people coming through, events happening)
● Like cross-pollination (meeting other artists, collaborating, teaching, showing work)
● Are open to contributing to the energy of the space (not just renting a room)
What we’re looking for
● Artists across mediums + disciplines
● Folks who will actually use the space and be part of community
● A mix of emerging + established artists
● People with ideas for what they want to host, share, teach, or build while they’re here

Important note: this is a temporary space
This is a “between uses” building activation — the magic of Vital Spaces is bringing life to spaces while they’re waiting for their next chapter.

Studio details
● Move-in begins: January 7
● Term: Month-to-month
● Cost: $200/month
○ Work-trade + sponsorship-supported studios will be available — so everyone should apply, even if $200 is a stretch.
● Studio size: approx. 7’ x 20’
● Build: open floor plan with temporary walls
● Access hours: 9am–11pm
● Utilities included: Yes (electric / heat / water / internet)
● Parking: Plenty of parking
Mediums + materials This space can’t accommodate spray paint, solvents, ceramics, welding, or music practice. (We’re still working out what “ongoing” noise expectations look like as we activate the building.) Accessibility ADA accessible (including bathrooms).
What we’re looking for
We’re building a strong mix of artists and makers who will:
● Use their studio consistently
● Be open to creating around others
● Help bring the space to life through open studios, volunteer time, and occasional events/activations
Selection process Artists will be selected by a jury panel.

Call for consignment artists: Interested in selling your art work at the new Vital Spaces store at 3140 Cerrillos Rd? We’re now accepting applications! Prints, paintings, cards, shirts, ceramics, and any other handmade items are all welcome! For this initial launch, space will be limited, so please be as detailed as you can in this form!
FYI: In consignment shops, makers consign (showcase) their goods at the shop for a specific time and receive part of the profits if and when the items are sold. In this case, Vital Spaces will receive 30% of all sales and pay out makers every month. In the consignment shop model, ownership of consigned items remains with the maker until those items are sold or until the maker decides to take back their unsold items.
