Telling Otherwise: A Film Story Development Workshop on Storytelling, Place, and Resistance
Santa Fe Art Institute and Vital Spaces present a three-day screenwriting workshop with Filipino screenwriter and SFAI Thematic Art Residency (Community of Practice) resident, Paul Sta. Ana on September 13–15, 2025, at the Vital Spaces Annex Gallery, 1600 Saint Michael’s Drive, Santa Fe, NM . This program introduces Santa Fe to the Found Story method developed by the late Armando Lao, centering on everyday life, overlooked realities, and lived memory as powerful foundations for visual storytelling.
Rooted in the post-colonial context of Manila, Philippines, Sta. Ana brings a perspective and practice of community-rooted, resourceful filmmaking that resonates with Santa Fe’s own struggles against erasure, commodification, and colonial legacies.
Registration is open until Sept 2.
