Sharing your Voice, Even if It’s Shaking: Poetry and Performance Playshop
Are you a beginner or shy poet, or an experienced poet with writer’s block? Have you wanted to perform your poetry or share publicly for years, but EXTREME stage fright is getting in the way? Are you intimidated by the mic?
The world needs your words: this playshop is for you!
In the first hour, we’ll delve into some poetical, psychological writing prompts that address that elephant in the room all poets deal with from time to time: our old friend, writer’s block. After alchemizing our blocks, the second hour-and-a-half will be dedicated to overcoming stage fright. Participants will receive performance training from an experienced poet-former and actress, and will then be given an opportunity to test out their skills in a safe and welcoming environment at our own “open mic, with training wheels”.
