SUMMARY:Right On! Exhibition by Angie Eng
DESCRIPTION:In celebration of API Heritage Month\, Vital Spaces presents Right On!\, a solo exhibition by conceptual artist Angie Eng\, on view May 2–30 at 3140 Cerrillos Road. The opening reception takes place May 2\, 4–7 pm. During the exhibition opening\, the first 40 attendees will receive a free Right On! T-shirt to wear that evening as part of a living billboard of social justice. The opening will launch with a short Torii Taiko performance. \nDeveloped in response to the rise in anti-Asian hate and inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement\, Right On! transforms civil rights history into 35 painted plaques in skin-tone hues\, with Landmark Supreme Court decision dates of the past 150 years. The selected dates are not limited to racial justice\, but include historical events addressing systemic discrimination according to gender\, disabilities\, immigration\, class\, and sexuality.  \nProgramming includes a panel discussion May 2nd 3-4pm\, Art as a Solution\, featuring architect Mariah Hoffman\, Alkemē chef Erica LiChin Tai\, visual and performance artist Szu-Han Ho\, curator Machiko Harada\,  filmmaker Terry Ngo and moderated by Angie Eng.  \nExhibition dates: May 2nd- May 30th 2026\nPanel Discussion: May 2nd 3-4pm\nExhibition opening: May 2nd 4pm-7pm with Toriii Taiko at 4:30pm\nLocation: Vital Spaces\, 3140 Cerrillos Road\, Santa Fe

DESCRIPTION:Join Santa Fe’s Tuesday Night Drawing group\, established in 1969\, at the Annex! \nDrawing sessions are held every Tuesday evening\, 6:30 to 9:30 in the Vital Spaces Annex Building located on the Santa Fe Midtown Campus\, formerly known as the Santa Fe University of Art & Design. \nOur models use a variety of poses\, varying in length from two-minute warmups to a final 40-minute pose over a three-hour period. \nThis weekly Santa Fe drawing group was started in 1969 by artist Eli Levin. Both amateur and professional artists have participated throughout the years. All skill levels are welcome from beginner to accomplished. The group is not a drawing class. It’s a shared figure-drawing opportunity. \nDrawing sessions are rarely cancelled\, but in the event that a session has to be cancelled a notice will be published here and on our Meetup site that is listed in the footer below. \nThe drawing fee is $10 per person\, payable with cash or PayPal at the door. \nNo photography allowed. \nSeating positions are available on a first-come basis. \nChairs are provided. The Annex does not have room to store the portable easels. Some artists use an extra chair as an easel. If you have your own easel or TV tray\, please bring it. \nBring your own art supplies. (paper\, pads\, drawing materials). \nDry media\, no toxic materials or sprays. Watercolor is OK. DESCRIPTION:Since 2020\, Vital Spaces has been giving away new and donated art supplies to hundreds of Santa Fe creatives\, youths\, and educators every month. This project helps provide supplies for those in need and also offers our community members a chance to reduce\, reuse and recycle! \nThis month\, we’re loaded up with lots of new finds andunique items! Everything from books\, magazines\, paint\, markers\, pencils\, paper\, yarn\, fabric\, decor\, wood pieces\, containers\, art kits\, and so much more. We also have some new supplies to offer such as crayons\, watercolor sets\, watercolor paper\, and canvases. \nThis event is free and open to everyone! Bring your shopping bags and bring your friends\, find some treasures\, and get inspired! \nAlready have too much stuff? We’ll take it! DESCRIPTION:Come out to Chess Club at Vital Spaces! This is a friendly\, casual space for those of all ages and skill levels to learn and practice chess\, as well as enjoy live music and create chess- (or other-) inspired art. \nWhat: Open chess play alongside live music from a variety of artists. Boards and tables will be available – feel free to play casual games\, experiment with chess variants (ask us about Bughouse!)\, or even set up impromptu tournaments. \nWho: Everyone! Newbies\, grandmasters\, and everyone in between are all welcome here. \nWhen: 1st and 3rd Thursdays\, 6-8pm \nWhere: 1600 St. Michael’s Drive – The Annex \njessi\, a chess fanatic/kids’ chess coach in a recent life\, will provide lessons for newcomers anytime and may even facilitate study sessions on occasion. \nLive music will be provided by Nicky Schott.  \nNicky Schott has been a freelance musician since he was 16\, playing everything from rock\, jazz\, musicals\, classical\, hiphop\, folk\, electronic\, etc. Over the past few years he has been interested in improvising music for a variety of events/spaces; he’d love to play for your function! SUMMARY:Tuesday Night Drawing
DESCRIPTION:Join Santa Fe’s Tuesday Night Drawing group\, established in 1969\, at the Annex! \nDrawing sessions are held every Tuesday evening\, 6:30 to 9:30 in the Vital Spaces Annex Building located on the Santa Fe Midtown Campus\, formerly known as the Santa Fe University of Art & Design. \nOur models use a variety of poses\, varying in length from two-minute warmups to a final 40-minute pose over a three-hour period. \nThis weekly Santa Fe drawing group was started in 1969 by artist Eli Levin. Both amateur and professional artists have participated throughout the years. All skill levels are welcome from beginner to accomplished. The group is not a drawing class. It’s a shared figure-drawing opportunity. \nDrawing sessions are rarely cancelled\, but in the event that a session has to be cancelled a notice will be published here and on our Meetup site that is listed in the footer below. \nThe drawing fee is $10 per person\, payable with cash or PayPal at the door. \nNo photography allowed. \nSeating positions are available on a first-come basis. \nChairs are provided. The Annex does not have room to store the portable easels. Some artists use an extra chair as an easel. If you have your own easel or TV tray\, please bring it. \nBring your own art supplies. (paper\, pads\, drawing materials). \nDry media\, no toxic materials or sprays. Watercolor is OK. Bring a drop cloth if necessary to keep your area clean. \nSnacks are available (cookies\, chips\, etc.) if artists voluntarily bring snacks to share. \nBring your own beverages. \nBackground music: we have access to Spotify and the Apple Music Library to provide a broad selection of background music. \nConversation happens. It’s not just tolerated but encouraged.
