Marissa Aurora was born in an old garage beside the Galisteo River in Cerrillos, New Mexico. After finding many homes around the globe, they now live in Madrid, NM. Their work, which spans many mediums, from film and textiles to sculpture and performance, draws inspiration from the magic of the universe and strives to be a source of joy, play and introspection for both the artist and the audience. Marissa’s current work often reflects on the dynamism of natural elements, queerness, and humanity.

Vital Spaces supports local, emerging & BIPOC artists and is inclusive of artists of all ages, religious beliefs, sexual orientations, and countries of origin. By providing affordable space, we provide venues for artists who might not otherwise know one another to come together in community and collaboration. We work to share this collaborative energy with the broader Santa Fe public through our programming.
